Local Stock Checker: real-time availability at your fingertips

Our new Local Stock Checker feature is a powerful feature that allows both retailers and shoppers to instantly check in-store product availability. Whether using an interactive kiosk or speaking with a store associate, customers can access real-time stock information, making their shopping experience faster and more convenient.

If an item is in stock, shoppers can pick it up immediately or reserve it for click-and-collect through the Cloudshelf kiosk, providing flexibility in how they shop. If a product isn’t available at that location, staff can quickly check the central stock availability, enabling the customer to order their desired product to be shipped to their home. This streamlined access to inventory improves customer satisfaction and helps retailers to maximise their chances of closing each and every sale in-store.

For retailers, speed and accuracy are crucial. With our Local Stock Checker, staff can locate any product within seconds, eliminating the need for manual searches or storeroom checks. On the Cloudshelf Product Detail Page (PDP), retailers can display live stock availability and precise stock counts, ensuring complete transparency for customers and sales teams alike.

Within the Cloudshelf app, users can manage stock settings easily through the 'Stock' tab and control how availability is displayed on the PDP. Labels provide clear insights for both staff and customers:

  • 'Available here' appears for products physically in the store

  • 'Available' is used for items in the online warehouse stock, ensuring staff know whether a customer can collect the item immediately or should place an order for home delivery.

This feature helps retailers maximise every sales opportunity by ensuring customers always have a clear, hassle-free path to purchase. Whether a shopper is ready to buy now or looking to reserve an item, Local Stock Checker simplifies the process and enhances the in-store experience.
