Search Anything

One of the unique things about Cloudshelf is its ability to enable retailers to curate specific product ranges to display on their in-store customer-facing kiosks, offering a more tailored experience, than simply displaying the full website. This prevents the frustration customers feel when directed to the website, as they can realise they could have just stayed at home.

While retailers love this curated approach, we’ve received feedback from stores wanting the ability to search beyond the featured products on their Cloudshelf kiosks.

In response, we’ve developed the Online Search feature, which enables shoppers to access a store's entire catalogue on any digital kiosk experience within the store, through our fast and efficient search technology.

Take a department store, for example: a staff member in the Kitchen Electrical area could be showcasing various kettle models and colours to a shopper, via a Cloudshelf screen. If the shopper then asks about coffee tables, the staff can quickly use the search function on the home screen to browse through the different coffee tables available. This allows the customer to view and purchase products from other sections of the store in a single transaction, without needing to visit other areas or stores. At the same time, the staff member is able to excel and upsell products, increasing sales revenues.

Edge and Cloud Computing

Our Engineering team have been working hard to provide you with the new Search Anything feature, as they put it, "to combine the benefits of both edge and cloud computing into a single user experience." This advanced technology allows for quicker, more efficient search results by blending the power of on-device processing (edge computing) with the vast resources of cloud computing. It ensures seamless integration and faster response times, providing an even smoother shopping experience for customers and retailers alike.

For existing Cloudshelf users, the Online Search feature is now available. To enable it, simply launch the Cloudshelf app from your Shopify store or login via Cloudshelf Manager to add the search function to your kiosks today.
