To introduce self-serve kiosks effectively, integrate them into your stores so customers are drawn to browse and buy on them.
Here are some steps to do this:
Put clear call-to-action signage around the kiosk
- Clear branded messaging around the kiosk lets customers know exactly what it is for. For example, a furniture store might use: "Bedding & Linen. Order here. Free delivery".
- Within your Cloudshelf you can also create a custom call to action for the product ranges on each screen. For example: "Shop more beds" or "Discover more jewellery".
Aim for 2+ devices per store
- Depending on your space, we advise starting with up to 2 devices per location. Customers interact with screens more when there are several, as it's clearer they are part of the store experience, not just an advertising screen or a device for staff.
- We recommend screens from 15" to 22" for the best experience. You can roll out larger screens, but screens should be fitted at eye level so they're easy to use, and larger screens can be harder to navigate.

Direct customers to the screens
- When introducing new technology, take the time to guide customers to the screens. Many will wander over by themselves, but some need to be told they can use the kiosks. Once this becomes part of your store routine, fewer customers need guiding as they get to know what the screens are for.
