The Cloudshelf kiosk does more magic when staff understand how to link it into their sales journey, so train sales staff on how to use it to drive sales.
For instance, in a fancy dress store a shopper asks for a 'ghost' costume. The staff member shows them the one on display, and if the customer looks doubtful, goes to the kiosk, taps search and types "ghost".
Or if someone says they are going to a 70s party, the sales assistant can type '1970' into the search and see all the relevant products.
Staff should aim to spend half an hour training, imagining sales situations and testing how to use the Cloudshelf to get the best result and close more sales. We can arrange a quick call with any staff members who would like extra training. Email support@cloudshelf.ai to arrange this.
Train staff to look like experts with the kiosk
Because the kiosk faces the customer rather than sitting behind the till, staff can come across as knowledgeable experts, even when they don't know a particular range well.
For instance, if someone asks for cat costumes, the staff member can say: "we have a great range of cat accessories and costumes, have a look here...". Then if the customer only wants costumes (use the product type filter) or something cheaper (use the price filter), they can delight them.
When the customer is taken through the experience with ease, they are more likely to order with the help of the staff member.
Don't call the Cloudshelf "the website"
When you tell a shopper something is on the website, their reaction is often to wonder why they bothered coming into the store, and to say they will check it once they get home (which mostly they don't).
So it's best to drop the technology and just say: "let me show you the rest of the range over here", while heading to the Cloudshelf kiosk.
Check the experience on the kiosk
Make sure the call to action is relevant
For example: "Shop our entire jewellery range" or "Customise your trainers".
Get great photos for your collections
These appear on your main Cloudshelf screen and are much more prominent than on the website, so it's worth uploading great photos. You can do this on the collections themselves, or in the Content tab of your Cloudshelf set-up (the website then stays unchanged).
